About Dr. Minal Ramekar

I became a dentist because I wanted to be in a profession where I could make a real impact on people’s lives. Dentistry allows me to relieve pain, restore confidence, and empower patients to take charge of their health. I’ve always been drawn to the healthcare field because of its evolving nature, and dentistry gives me the perfect balance of hands-on technical work, continual learning, and meaningful connection with people.

What I love most about dentistry is the opportunity to help patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their decisions. Many people feel overwhelmed or anxious about dental care—so I make it a priority to communicate clearly and honestly, walk them through each step, and provide treatments with the highest level of precision and care. I take great pride in my attention to detail and my ability to create tailored treatment plans that fit each person’s unique needs.

In my practice, I focus on restorative dentistry, root canal treatments, extractions, crowns and bridges, and preventive care. My goal is not just to treat, but to educate—because when patients understand their oral health, they’re far more likely to make lasting, healthy choices. Preventable dental issues are still one of the most common health concerns in Australia, and I believe dentists have a vital role in changing that narrative through trust, education, and great care.

How I stay healthy and happy
I make a conscious effort to eat well and stay active, especially by walking regularly. But true happiness for me comes from quality time with my husband and our 5-year-old son. I also believe in the importance of self-care and taking small breaks to recharge—these moments keep me balanced and fulfilled, both personally and professionally.

How I maintain healthy teeth and gums
Good oral hygiene is all about consistency. I brush twice daily, floss every day, and enjoy crunchy vegetables like carrots and celery that help clean teeth naturally. These habits don’t just protect your smile—they support overall health too.

Essential tip to keep your teeth healthy
Brush and floss daily, and don’t skip your routine dental check-ups every 6 months. Even if everything feels fine, early detection is the key to preventing bigger, more expensive problems down the line.
